Indonesia is one of the largest coffee producing countries (No.4) and exporters (No.19) in the world. Indonesia also has many famous local coffee beans that have gone global, ranging from Luwak coffee, Mandailing coffee, Gayo coffee, Kintamani coffee, Flores / Bajawa coffee, Javanese coffee to Toraja coffee. The coffee plants were originally brought in by the Dutch who planted coffee trees around their territory in Batavia. In the 17th and 18th centuries began to expand coffee production to the Bogor and Sukabumi regions in West Java. Indonesia has a climate that is almost ideal for coffee production and thus plantations were soon established in other areas on the island of Java, Sumatra island and also the island of Sulawesi. Apart from being a lifestyle, coffee has various benefits ranging from health benefits to beauty. The steeping of black seeds contains antioxidants that function as protection for the body's health and reduce obesity and diabetes. Drinking coffee can also increase positive emotions and feelings of pleasure so as to avoid depression. A study found that coffee has the potential to protect the body from certain cancers, heart disease to Parkinson's disease. Besides drinking coffee also reduces the risk of stroke. With regard to agricultural commodities, coffee is the fourth largest foreign exchange earner for Indonesia after palm oil, rubber and cocoa. Exports of processed coffee products from Indonesia are dominated by instant coffee products, extracts, coffee essences and concentrates. According to the publication of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the volume of coffee exports until July 2020 reached 186.8 thousand tons. This number is up 10.69% compared to the previous year.
